About us

Scotland's straightforward salvage group

Scottish Salvage Group buys, collects and recycles scrap and end-of-life vehicles right across the country — a licensed yard you can actually speak to, not a faceless lead form that sells your details on.

Properly licensed, properly done

We're a SEPA-licensed authorised treatment facility (ATF) — licence SEPA/WML678976, operating from our yard at Camaghael, Fort William. In plain terms, that means every car we take is depolluted to the legal standard — fuels and fluids drained, battery, airbags and catalytic converter removed and handled safely — before the parts worth saving are recovered and the shell is recycled. You get a Certificate of Destruction and the DVLA is notified, so the car is genuinely off your name.

What we stand for

Two things, mostly. First, the price we quote is the price you're paid — no inspection theatre at the kerb, no quiet deductions, and never illegal cash. Second, collection is genuinely free, anywhere in Scotland, runner or not. We'd rather build a reputation that brings the next car than squeeze a fiver off this one.

Wherever you are in Scotland

From the Borders and Dumfries up through the Central Belt, across Fife and Tayside to the North East, the Highlands and the islands — if it has four wheels and it's reached the end of the road, we'll come and get it. See the towns we cover →

How a collection actually works

You give us the reg and postcode; we confirm a firm figure, usually within minutes. You pick a slot, and a driver arrives in it — not vaguely "that day". The car is checked against the reg, winched on if it doesn't run, and the bank transfer is sent while the truck is still outside. Afterwards we notify the DVLA, your Certificate of Destruction follows, and any full months of road tax are refunded to you automatically. The whole visit usually takes about ten minutes of your day.

What happens to your car

Nothing goes straight to the crusher. Each vehicle is depolluted first — fuels and fluids drained, battery, airbags and catalytic converter removed and handled safely — then anything worth saving is recovered: engines, gearboxes, panels, electronics. What's left is baled and recycled as raw material. It's better for the price we can pay you, and it's the standard SEPA licenses us to meet.
