Free scrap car collection across Scotland

Free should mean free. We don't charge a collection fee, a recovery surcharge or an admin cost anywhere on the Scottish mainland — and we never quote one number then knock money off at your door to cover the diesel. The price we agree against your reg is exactly what you're paid. The one honest exception: a few remote island runs carry a travel adjustment, always agreed up front when you book, never sprung on you later.

We come to you, anywhere in Scotland

Our recovery trucks run from our Fort William yard right across the country — Lochaber and the Highlands are on the doorstep, with the Central Belt, North East, South West and islands covered on regular routes. The car doesn't need to start or have an MOT; we winch it on. Tenement back court, locked compound (with your say-so), sloped driveway or the side of the road — tell us the situation when you book and we'll bring the right kit.

What happens on collection day

Have your V5C to hand if you've got it, and clear any personal bits out of the car. We check the reg against the vehicle, load it, and send your payment by instant bank transfer before we leave. The DVLA notification and your Certificate of Destruction are handled afterwards — nothing for you to chase.

Awkward access? Tell us, we'll bring the right kit

Access is the thing people worry about most, and it's almost never the problem they expect. Tenement back courts, steep shared driveways, locked compounds (with your say-so), farm tracks and single-track roads are all part of a normal week for our drivers. If the wheels are seized or the car won't roll, we use a dolly or the winch line; if a close is too tight for the truck, we'll talk through where to meet that's easiest for you.

The one thing that genuinely helps is knowing in advance. Mention the situation when you book — third-floor permit parking, a car that's been sitting for two years, no keys — and the right equipment turns up first time. What you'll need on the day is a two-minute read; for the price side, see what your car is worth.

FAQs

Common questions

Is collection genuinely free?

Yes. There is no collection charge anywhere we operate in Scotland. The only rare exception is a very remote island job, where we'll always agree any travel adjustment up front — never sprung on you at the door.

Can you collect if the car won't move?

Yes. Seized wheels or a dead car are no problem — we use a winch or dolly to get it out.

Do I need to be there?

Ideally yes, so we can confirm the car and pay you on the spot. If you can't be, we can usually arrange a trusted alternative — just mention it when booking.
