Scrap or salvage — which is yours?
A straight scrap car is valued on weight and the metal market. A salvage car — repairable, or carrying parts in demand — is usually worth more, because we can recover and resell those components. Tell us the reg and a little about the car and we'll tell you honestly which it is and what it's worth.
No haggling, no hidden cuts
We quote a firm figure and stand by it. There's no inspection theatre at your door and no money knocked off once we arrive — the only time a price changes is if the car turns out very different from how it was described, and even then we re-quote openly.
Selling to us vs selling privately
Be honest about the maths before you list a tired car online. A private sale means advert fees or haggling buyers, no-show viewings, test drives on your insurance, and a stranger at your door with questions about that gearbox whine. For a car with a strong MOT and real demand, it's worth the effort — here's how to decide.
For everything else — the MOT failure, the Cat S or Cat N write-off, the non-runner that's been quietly devaluing on the drive — selling to us wins on time and often on money once repairs are priced in. One firm quote, one free collection, paid the same day, and the DVLA side closed properly so nothing follows you around afterwards.
We'll buy it if it's…
- A runner you simply want gone
- A non-runner, MOT failure or project that stalled
- An insurance write-off (Cat S / Cat N)
- Missing paperwork, keys or plates
- Sitting on a drive costing you tax and insurance
Common questions
Is it better to scrap or sell my car?
If the car still drives well and is in demand, a private sale may beat scrap value. If it's an MOT failure, a write-off or a non-runner, scrap or salvage is usually faster and nets more than you'd expect once repair costs are weighed in.
Can I sell a car that's on finance?
Not until the finance is settled — the car legally belongs to the lender until then. Clear the finance first, then we can buy it.
Do you buy cars without an MOT?
Yes. An expired or failed MOT makes no difference to us — we collect and recycle the car either way.
